Back in 2011, Jesper was leading a digitalisation project at his school, introducing iPads into classrooms for the first time, though exciting at the time, it didn’t suit how teachers actually work. The problem was simple but fundamental: iPads were designed for personal use, not for structured classroom collaboration.
Together with co-founder Søren Adolph and Nanna Bentel, Jesper built the first version of Meebook, designed as a dynamic, web-based system where teachers could plan lessons, upload materials, and students could access everything in one structured interface. The core idea - bridging teaching with intuitive digital organisation - still defines Meebook today.
In its early days, Meebook was simply a one-way distribution tool - teachers shared materials with students, and soon after, the platform evolved to enable two-way communication, assignments, and, later, knowledge sharing among teachers.
Today, Meebook is taking another major step with the introduction of its AI Planning Assistant.
“Our AI assistant helps teachers plan lessons,” Jesper explains. “They can select a topic, subject, and grade level, and Meebook automatically generates a structured plan with activities, assignments, and resources, all powered by AI.”
This next phase, which Jesper calls “Meebook 2.0”, is now live - helping teachers save countless hours in lesson planning while maintaining pedagogical quality.
In 2024, Meebook joined Visma, marking a new chapter in its growth.
“We’d been approached by Visma before,” Jesper shares. “Back in 2019, we considered selling, but it wasn’t the right time. We needed to mature as a business first.”
When Visma reconnected four years later, the timing and the fit were right. “Visma offered us the best of both worlds: autonomy to keep doing what we do best, and the strength of being part of a large, trusted organisation,” says Jesper.
Since joining, Meebook has been exploring collaboration with other Visma companies, such as Norway’s Visma InSchool, to expand its impact across the Nordic educational landscape - a clear example of how collaboration within Visma’s network is driving faster, smarter growth.
Jesper’s perspective on entrepreneurship is refreshingly down-to-earth. “Of course, success comes from hard work and timing,” he says. “But I also think a lot of companies forget the basics: make money from day one.”
From the beginning, Meebook has been profitable, no venture capital, no red numbers. “That gave us credibility when we sold,” Jesper notes. “For public-sector clients, stability matters more than hype. They need to know you’ll still be around in 10 years.”
His advice to new founders?
“Be innovative, yes, but also be financially healthy. Make more money than you spend.”
Today, Jesper leads Meebook with the same curiosity that first inspired it - but now, with the backing of Visma’s network and vision. “Being part of Visma gives us credibility, structure, and collaboration opportunities we couldn’t have on our own, and that’s exactly what’s helping us take Meebook to the next level,” says Jesper.
