Two Visma employees among Norway’s top 50 women in tech

Life at Visma

As a global software company, we are constantly working towards a more balanced gender ratio and recruiting more women to tech positions to work towards a more diverse industry.

“Norway’s top 50 women in tech” have been awarded yearly since 2016 on International Women’s Day by the Oda network, the Nordic region’s leading network for women in technology, and Abelia, the NHO’s trade and employers association for the knowledge- and technology-based sector.

The awards aim to highlight all the important and talented women working in the technology field, inspiring and attracting women to choose a tech career and promoting diversity. The nomination process is open, and the jury’s criteria stipulate that the candidates must have a central technology-related or technology-promoting role.

Visma’s Therese Sletten, Berit Braut and Liza Collin have also received this prestigious award in previous years.

Kristin Rotevatn Nyberg – Managing Director at Visma bWise

On International Women’s Day, March 8, Kristin Rotevatn Nyberg was announced as one of Norway’s top 50 women in tech 2022. Kristin is a great role model for both women and men in Visma. She is a visionary in everything she does and engages both customers, employees and companies.

Kristin is an experienced technologist, has a master’s degree in engineering and has worked as a developer for many years. She has been in leading positions in both small and large software companies.

Three years ago, Kristin took over as Managing Director of Visma bWise. With her breadth and ability to think long-term, she has created a solid knowledge environment within tech. Kristin is an active leader who genuinely cares about people and has established a great dynamic within the company.

Kristin is eminent in making what technology does for society visible and making our work feel meaningful. Those who work with Kristin are proud of what they contribute. She is also a champion of diversity and welcomes everyone with openness and flexibility for employees no matter what life situation the employee is in.

Daniela Cruzes – Lead Security Researcher

Daniela Cruzes was also ranked among Norway’s top 50 women in tech, 2022. On March 8, she also received the award “DigIT woman of the year”. Both are prestigious awards that play an important role in showcasing female role models within the technology field.

Daniela is a software engineering and software security professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and works part-time at Visma. She has a long and impressive background in research and plays a vital role in our security team, providing us with a data-driven approach to implementing our security program.

Daniela believes that nominations such as “Top 50 women in tech” and other awards for women in IT are a good way to attract more women to the field.

“Women are inspired by role models. When I see a successful woman in my field, I get inspired. I am inspired by the courage and determination that many have. So maybe what we need is to be more visible and inspire more women to take roles in IT,” says Daniela.

We are lucky and proud to have colleagues like Kristin and Daniela at Visma. We are continuously working towards achieving gender equality. With great role models such as these, we help pave the way and inspire other women interested in a career in tech.
